Jim was born and raised in the Bitterroot Valley (log capital of the USA) and he knows logs. In Jim's early years he moved around to various parts of the country. He was self-employed and his business adventures were always customer based - he loves working with the people!

Jim moved back to Hamilton in 1991 and started working with loggers. So he has touched on most areas of the log industry. In the beginning, Jim primarily bought and sold dry Dead Standing house logs. Then a few years ago, he began marketing log home packages and put together a very talented crew to build handcrafted homes.

Working for Western Spirit Log Homes, Jim has been able to realize his dream of producing and marketing a unique and hard to find product. For in this past year, Western Spirit Log Homes built a lathe that can mill logs up to 24" in diameter and over 40 feet in length.

Jim lives in Hamilton and has 2 grown daughters - Cyndi and Missy. In July of 2002, Jim and Christina were married.

The Rest of our Crew...
At any given time we have many other employees that work for us. It depends entirely on the jobs we have at that time and what skills are required. We are blessed to have a 'family' of loyal and dedicated people that we can call on when needed.
